Voices of Silence

Giovanni requested some Stimmen der Stille. A dark German Post-Punk band which has a nice early Goth sound. Their name means "Voices of Silence." While the band seems to have survived at least 3-4 years, I can find very little information about them. One source compares them to Xmal Deutschland, which I find unjust.

These files compile the band's 1985 and 1986 Demos, and a 12" single. Their Morgenstern LP is available separately here. I believe this was the extent of the band's releases. If anyone has more information on other releases please enlighten me. Meanwhile, enjoy these tracks, which were uploaded once again March 2009!

Vocals: Daniela Siemon
Guitar: Thomas Stelkens
Drums: Martin Gasper
Bass: Pamela Alnoch

Hi, Fritz! That's me (Roman Nikonenko)... And this german band is one of the best "dark" acts from 80's in Deutschland (with my all-time favourite Malaria!). Thanks a lot!

Nevermind, dear. So don't care about my request. The most important thing is that you don't get into trouble. Hope you're alright and thanks for the great blog and the love of early goth sounds...

I can't seem to get past this endless loop on zShare to download the Morgenstern lp. All it does is go from the first page to the countdown page and when I click on the download link, I go back to the other page. It's never done that before.

they just released one LP "Morgenstern" (engl. mornging star), this 12'' and demos you've posted here. i think they sounded similiar to xmal deutschland! not a rip-off, but quite similar indeed!
best regards from germany!

I'm just curious - traditional british batcave or goth rock are quite harsh on me, and i'm rather only on post-punk/new wave with some coldwave (as long as it's around the genre) but german stuff like Stimmen der stille or Asmodi bizarr are quite enjoyable, very melodic with nice guitar and bass.
